Meet Luisa: A nanny and babysitter in Mermaid Beach, QLD

Hi, my name is Luisa. I’m a 26-year-old lawyer from Portugal, and I’ve just arrived in Australia for a year-long adventure. My main goal here is to immerse myself in the beauty of this country, meet new people, and most importantly, focus on doing what I truly love: caring for children.

For the past six years, I’ve worked at the German School of Oporto, where I’ve been helping children with their homework, playing with them after school, and looking after them until their parents arrive. It’s been incredibly rewarding, and it has only deepened my passion for working with kids.

Over the last two years, I’ve also been lucky enough to become an aunt to two wonderful nieces, and I’ve been involved in their care from the moment they were born. Whether it's playing, teaching, or just offering a comforting presence, looking after children has always been close to my heart.

I’m excited to continue exploring my love for childcare while in Australia, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the lives of the little ones here.
