Meet Madeleine: A nanny and babysitter in Sydney, NSW

27 years old, currently completing a Bachelor of Midwifery. I have 5 years experience caring for newborns, babies, toddlers and pre-school/primary school aged children as a nanny (2 years full-time care of newborns, babies and toddlers and 3 years experience of after school runs for a family with pre-school/primary school aged children).

I love working with children and mothers. I am passionate about the work I do, which is always in service of promoting healthy early childhood development, and secure child-caregiver attachment. I have a gentle personality that I find always puts little ones at ease. I enjoy playing games with children, reading, singing, going on walks and completing homework together. I am comfortable looking after children both outgoing and introverted and understand each child has their own unique set of needs. Safety, privacy and empathy are at the centre of my care.

I particularly love caring for babies and have experience caring for newborns both as a nanny and student midwife. I am confident with bottle feeding, settling to sleep, carrying, changing nappies, bathing and the million other things to do in that beautiful baby bubble!

I like cleaning and tidying up so you'll enjoy me making things easier for you when you get home without needing to ask.

I only speak English; however, I did take care of children who went to bilingual school for 3 years, and have taken lessons in French and Spanish, so am very capable of helping your kids with language homework/games. I am currently teaching myself French on Duolingo :)

Fully vaccinated (NSW Health compliant), current Police check, Working with Children's Check, full unrestricted driver's licence holder with car (10 years experience), pet-friendly, and I am a non-smoker. I completed an unaccredited First Aid for Babies and Children course with the Australian Red Cross in 2021, and received training in baby and adult CPR with my midwifery studies earlier this year. I am happy to undertake any additional/refresher training for your peace of mind.

My rate is $35+/hr as per award minimum for my experience and education. My rates are negotiated, as every family situation is unique regarding number of children, ages, times of day, hours, travel etc.
