Meet Sylvie: A nanny, babysitter, and au pair in Melbourne, VIC

Born in Melbourne and where I lived for the first 3 years of my life. I relocated to the UK (I have dual citizenship) where I successfully completed school, and subsequently obtained a degree in English from the University of Sussex. I will be permanently relocating to Melbourne at the end of Jan 2025.

Since graduating, I have had experience working with children aged 4-11 in a school as a teaching assistant (DBS checked = British equivalent of WWCC). During my time at the school, I was responsible for providing one-on-one support for children with special educational needs and disabilities, led small group interventions which covered all curriculum areas, completed a course focusing on supporting the emotional wellbeing of the children and independently ran sessions for those who needed access to social and emotional support, occasionally covered for class teacher and assisted with lesson planning.

I would love to become an Au Pair/Nanny, as I take great joy in helping children learn, grow and explore the world around them. I would hugely benefit from the experience, as it offers the valuable and unique opportunity to expand my life experiences. The chance to become an extended part of a family, whilst providing support with childcare and household tasks is appealing to me as I want to be able to contribute to the daily lives of a family and create a special bond.I would be a reliable, trustworthy and patient Au Pair with a sense of humour, and would ensure to respect all family boundaries. I can also offer any additional tutoring in any subject.
