Meet Poppy: A nanny and babysitter in Doreen, VIC

Hi, I’m Poppy! I have a genuine love for working with children and plenty of hands-on experience caring for kids of all ages.

I grew up as an only child for the first 10 years of my life until my two little sisters came along—now 11 and 9—which means I’ve been a built-in babysitter from the start! Growing up with Au Pairs in our home has also given me the opportunity to experience different personalities and caregiving styles, which has shaped my understanding of childcare. One day, I’d love to become an Au Pair myself!

Beyond family experience, I’ve worked in childcare centers, where I cared for children in structured environments, and as a tennis coach, working with kids aged 5 to 15, helping them build confidence, coordination, and teamwork skills. These experiences have taught me patience, leadership, and how to keep kids engaged in a fun and active way.

Currently, I work in administration, but I love babysitting because it allows me to connect with children, encourage creativity, and create a safe, happy environment. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with friends, and being outdoors—especially at the beach! During the colder months, you’ll find me enjoying hot pilates, yoga, or cozying up with my pets.
