Babysitters and nannies - rating system information

Babysitters and nannies can be rated online by parents. Carers can also post replies to the ratings. This builds trust on the site and helps great carers find more work, as they gather positive ratings. Here are further details explaining the system:

Background

Find A Babysitter has designed a ratings system to allow the Find A Babysitter community to share feedback with each other. Find A Babysitter believes in offering a fair and reasonable system that will serve all parents and babysitters on the site. Parents can post a rating (out of 5 stars) and make a specific comment about sitters they have hired. Sitters are notified of the rating and are able to post a reply online. Parents are also able to remove a rating if they choose to.

Leaving a rating (parents)

To leave a rating, parents simply log on to the Find A Babysitter site by using their email and password. This will open their account page and they will see a list of messages they sent to sitters. Click on the sitter's name and this will open their profile. At the bottom of the profile is a "Write a Review" link. Parents can click this link and leave feedback. We ask that the feedback comments relate specifically to the babysitter's job performance.

Reply to a rating (babysitters)

Sitters will be notified by email that a rating has been left for them. To read the rating, sitters can log onto their Find A Babysitter account and then go to the section titled "My Reviews" at the bottom of the account page. Click the 'edit response' button, then enter a reply. We ask that the reply responds directly to the comments made by the parent.

Removing a rating

A rating can be removed by the parent who wrote it. The entire rating and reply will be deleted.

Terms of Use

The Terms of Use of Find A Babysitter state how the site should be used by members. This covers the posting of ratings (by Parents) and replies (by Babysitters). Every site member is personally responsible for any comments they post. As stated in the Terms of Use members must not post any information that is false, inaccurate or misleading, defamatory, libelous, threatening or intimidating. We retain the right to cancel the membership of any member who we believe has violated the site's Terms of Use.

Find A Babysitter's role

Find A Babysitter does not routinely intervene in the ratings system. Find A Babysitter does not take responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information that members post on the site. Find A Babysitter is not legally responsible for remarks made by members. However, as stated in our Terms of Use, Find A Babysitter reserves the right to edit, refuse to post, or remove any information or material it deems inappropriate. Find A Babysitter screens every comment posted and will remove any comments we believe are unacceptable. We ask parents and sitters to use caution, good judgement and honesty when posting ratings or replies.

Dispute resolution

As stated in our Terms of Use "In the event that you have a dispute with another site member you will need to personally negotiate the resolution of that dispute." Find A Babysitter does not take responsibility for mediating between parties who disagree with the ratings and replies. Find A Babysitter encourages all parties to contact each other directly to discuss and resolve any issues.
