Hello, I am a single dad residing in Kingsbury with an 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.
I am looking for an educator to look after the kids in the mornings as I'm an Electrician and required on site usually between 6 and 7am (usually 7am). Your start time would be either 5am or 6am.
You would make the lunches, get them up and then take them to school, which is less than a 10 minute drive.
They are good at getting themselves showered and ready for school and making their own breakfasts.
You would have the option of weekend and week night shifts occasionally when I need to work overtime.
This could be ongoing for the next 4 years until my son goes to Secondary School.
We are looking for a kind, nurturing and fun-loving nanny to spend time with our children: Rachel, who is 4 years old and Ethan, who is 2.5 years old.
Living Situation
We live in a two-storey house 10 mins from Ivanhoe Train Station on foot (3 mins by car). Rachel and Ethan live with their parents (Isabel and Jason) and Isabel's parents.
Rachel
Rachel currently attends 4yo kinder at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School 5 days a week. She normally comes home at 3pm. When she comes home from kinder, she is usually quite bored and is always looking for things to do.
On Saturday, Rachel has ballet lesson from 12.15- 1pm in Fairfield.
On Sunday, Rachel goes to Sunday school from 10 to 11.30am
Rachel likes drawing and pretend play. She is generally very kind and sweet.
Ethan
Ethan has not started childcare yet. He likes playing with toy cars all day. He can play independently. He can be quite cheeky sometimes and likes to draw on the wall when no one is watching. He is very attached to Isabel's dad.
Ethan is nappy-free but can have toileting accidents sometimes.
He takes one midday nap.
The adults
Jason works as a doctor and works most days during the week. Isabel is a public servant and works in the office Wed & Thurs and from home Mon, Tue and Fri. Isabel's parents are retirees.
Your Duties
Your duties will include:
1. Playing with Rachel and Ethan (that's the main thing)
2. Reading to them (Rachel would be more interested in books than Ethan. Ethan only wants to read about cars.)
3. Having conversations with them
4. No cooking required, but you will need to fetch fruits and snacks from the kitchen for them if they're hungry
5. Saying No to TV unless they are really tired and need some downtime
We don't have a fixed time when we need help and are happy to arrange care on an ad-hoc basis. The reasons we are looking for a nanny are so that we can:
1. Limit Rachel and Ethan's screen time; and
2. catch a break from time to time- especially on the weekend.
Nannies who are native Mandarin speakers will be given priority consideration.
We're seeking a babysitter to help us out on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to care for a 4 month old. Tuesday from roughly 10am til 3pm. Wednesday from roughly 8am til 4pm, however these times may flex week to week. You'll look after the baby while I attend appointments or work from home and you'll need to accompany me to appointments to look after the baby. Additionally, light housework like folding laundry, cleaning the kitchen after kids meals and tidying up toys is part of the role.

Hi there, we are a family of four, with two girls aged 9 and 6. We are initially looking for a babysitter to do school pick up on a Thursday, bring the girls home and then take them to soccer training at 5.30. From July, we will also need an after school babysitter on a couple of other afternoons, most likely Monday and/or Wednesday. Our girls are fun, energetic and creative, and are looking forward to spending time with a new babysitter!

Example responsibilities include school & kinder drop offs, caring for / playing with the children, meal prep & cooking, bottle feeding the baby (once a day), washing/folding, making beds, general tidying but no heavy cleaning.
In 2024, the week will look like this:
Mondays - 7:45 - 5:30: After helping the children get ready for the day, it will be school drop off then you'll be home with our 4 year old and the baby. This day may end up including taking our daughter to something extra curricular like swimming or gymnastics in between the baby's naps.
Wednesdays - 7:30 - 5:30: Kinder drop off of our daughter, school drop off of our son, then home with the baby for the day until kinder & school pick up (2:45, 3:20pm) . He sleeps usually two naps a day and while he is napping you can help us get on top of our domestic to do list.
In 2025, this will change to be Mondays and Tuesdays. Ideally we'll have the same person for both days, but if you can only do one at this stage please be in touch as we'd be open to having to different people on each day for the right fit. I am looking for a babysitter to help with getting my daughter Abby ready for school and also some pick ups from school into the evening. Abby is a fun and easy going 9 year old who loves meeting new people.
The role will be every 2nd week as she is with her mother on the alternate weeks.

Our children are aged 9, 7 and 2 and we’re looking for someone who would be available before (7:30 - 9:30am) and after school (2:00 - 6:00pm). We’re looking for two people to share the role to allow some flexibility around their other commitments.
This position will be commencing in early July and we’d be needing someone who is available every week of the school term.
Our ideal person will be someone who is fun, energetic and enjoys spending time with young children. Someone who is comfortable going to the park, playing outside or even just hanging out and having a chat and a quiet play. We’re looking for a housekeeper/nanny to help our very busy family. Our two children, Sam & Aimee, are both high energy, active children. Sam loves being out doors, Lego and Karate. Aimee loves going to the park, drawing and crafts. My husband Tom & I work full time, we are both English but have been in AUS for almost 12 years.
We need someone who can spend 3-4 hours a day (ideally 4 days per week) helping us with school pick-up (from after care at around 5pm), taking the kids to activities, housework, laundry, meal prep and general errands. We are back at 6pm and kids are in school aftercare most days, so a significant portion of the hours would be ahead of them being picked up, to give time for the household jobs. We would love someone who is looking for a longer-term role (sorry no one looking for short-term positions).
In an ideal world, we'd love someone Mon-Thursday from 2-6pm (with some flexibility if we were going out for dinner or similar) but we can flex if needed. Our current housekeeper also does our cleaning - the new candidate could also take this on, or we could find a separate cleaner if required/preferred.
You would have use of our car while at work and we welcome someone who would enjoy taking the initiative to keep everything running smoothly. We spend a lot of time on the Peninsula, so we would also prefer someone who is willing to travel down there occasionally (travel time and expenses paid of course).
