Hello Mums and Dads, I know how crazy life can get with work, your little ones running around, and in these ‘new times’ with Covid, trying to manage everything can be really stressful. But worry no more because I know I can help!!
My name is Olivia. I’m a compassionate, fun and patient 30-year-old Nanny and professional ‘Mums Helper’, who lives in inner Melbourne. I have been working closely with children and their families for over 8 years and I absolutely love my work. Over the years I have worked with a broad range of families and children (aged 2-15) including extensive experience with children who have various special needs, particularly Autism and also children with behavioural difficulties. There’s nothing more rewarding than putting in the work and having the patience and compassion when a child is struggling and then seeing them transform and blossom into the best versions of themselves. I have been working for a beautiful family with two boys (ages 10 and 7- the 10 year old has autism), at the end of this year it will be five years but sadly they will be moving to South Korea for the fathers work with the Defence Force so I am in need of work for in the New year.
Growing up with many nannies (some great and some not so) I knew exactly the sort of Nanny and child caretaker I wanted to be. Someone who can be ‘silly’ (when the times right) and can have a laugh, who enjoys getting my hands dirty whether it’s arts and crafts, playing around in the backyard or building sand castles on the beach. I love reading stories and going on excursions whether it’s the Zoo, museum or just the local beaches and parks. I am also very experienced at helping children with their homework. 2020/2021 has also brought me new experiences as I had the chance to home school two boys.
I am a strong believer that all caretakers should put away the ‘screens’ and be interactive and involved in the child/children’s lives as we play an important role and can have a huge positive impact across many aspects of a child’s life (creatively, play, learning, confidence building etc). I also understand it’s not all about the fun and games. Parents need help too. If you need help finding routine again, de-cluttering of toys, cleaning-up after the kids, washing and ironing for the whole family, organisation of home and just finding some calm amongst what can feel like ‘chaos’- I can help. I also love to cook and bake and can help with meal preparations, school lunch box prep and creating the occasional treat (or more) for the family to enjoy. If you need help with birthday parties; including birthday cakes and party food- I’d love to help. I can help with grocery shopping and any errands that are needed.
If you’re only wanting a date night and just need a babysitter for the night I’m also available for any adhoc babysitting at short notice. I have my own car (2016 Hyundai i30) with 1 child seat and a full license. I have my first aid, double Covid Vaccination and Working with Childrens Check certificates.
