My name is Kate. I'm a single mother to a 6 year old daughter, Ripley. We live in Reservoir (near Reservoir station).
Right now (Dec/Jan 2024), over the school holidays I'm looking for someone to support me with care for Ripley. I'm on annual leave from work, however my mum had a stroke last week and at least over the next few weeks, I need help with Ripley so i can get to the hospital to visit my mum. This would likely be a day or two a week.
In 2025, I also need support with Ripley on Tuesdays, from about 2pm-6pm, and likely also all day on a Saturday, but really I've got a lot of flex on days. (Ripley attends school part time). I also take quarterly mental health breaks usually to Byron Bay, I'd love to pay to bring you along (in your own room of course and super clear boundaries so you aren't on the clock 24/7).
Ripley is a smart, anxious, very creative and imaginative kid who adores animals. She's highly sensitive and really sort of gets vibes off people's energy, so I'm after someone who is the right fit for her and someone with a calm and fun energy. She can get a bit overwhelmed on excursions, so my strong preference would be that you would stay at my place with her and make fun at home. Home is her safe space. She loves playing with her shopkins, barbies, monster high dolls and lego. Her special interest is animals of any kind. If you have a kid friendly dog, Ripley would adore it if you brought your dog with you, she's very respectful of animals their personal space. I have a large fenced in backyard.
I'm left leaning, its a LGBTQI+ safe household. I myself am into arthouse cinema and MIFF, music, listening to podcasts and fashion. We have one cat (she's a former stray who spends a lot of time outside and isnt bothered by dogs).
