For the last 5 years I have been a Swimming Teacher and Swimming Coordinator whilst training part time in a professional team as a triathlete. I am still a keen triathlete enjoying riding my bike and jogging in the local parks and heading to the baths for a swim. Swimming teaching has given me great experience working with children and has taught me to get creative and plan ahead for activities. I am an extremely tidy organised person and very happy to help out with house work and love to cook. I am a pescatarian so not best with meat but happy to learn new recipes if needed. I have lots of energy and love the outdoors and heading to the local parks a stroll. I have a UK life saving training which includes children CPR and first aid. I have worked as a regularly for two families as causal evening babysitting a 2 year old and the second family the girls are now 8 and 11 but worked with them since they were 5 and 8. Hello! Please note I don’t own a car so am only looking for work within reasonable cycling distance of Fitzroy North. I’m looking for all day shifts primarily (e.g. 7-10 hrs) on Tuesdays and /or Thursdays. Ideally 2 full days but am open to 1. Am available to start 2025. I love working with children and I'm very enthusiastic about doing creative things like painting, musical games or singing, reading stories, playing imaginary games, hide and go seek, board games and going to parks, PT rides, the museum/zoo etc. I’m pretty great at drawing and naming dinosaurs from the early cretaceous to mesozoic era, drawing Shrek characters and Paw Patrol! I don’t believe in putting kids in a box based on their gender and encourage them to try anything and see others with an open mind. I have 12 years teaching experience in Australia (the last 5 in Japan 2017-2022) as a kindergarten (5-6 years old) and grade 2 teacher at international schools with the IB curriculum. I am very patient and caring and make sure I give children my full attention. I am also very reliable, organised and trustworthy. I understand that it is important to keep children of all ages stimulated and am respectful of parents' routines and rules. Enforcing manners (age appropriate of course) is also really important to me. I have 7 years experience as a nanny, ranging from 6 months to 10 years old. I can work evenings (minimum 3 hrs please). I have completed first-aid courses in Japan and Australia. I have WWC and police checks that was applied for by the op shop I used to volunteer at. I can provide referees' details who will attest to my dedication, reliability and creativity. I am prepared to do light housework and tidying up after the kids (of course) but I do encourage them to help. I’m very reliable and expect the same from my employer. Late notice cancelling of my shifts i with no compensation isn’t respecting my time. In the last 3 years I’ve only taken one sick day despite being surrounded by colds, coughs and stomach bugs! I completed my primary school teaching degree in 2013. I’ve had 4 covid shots now, soon able to get my fifth.
