Hi my name is Emma.
I have over 16 years experience in early childhood and hold my Diploma in Children's Services and Working With Children's Check. For 10 years I worked as a room leader at a small early learning centre, where I cared for children aged 0-6 and eventually was the Assistant Director for a few years. I also worked as a kindergarten assistant at a sessional kinder, while nannying for two families in the afternoon/ evenings. I left my role at the kinder and nannying at the end of 2019, just before my daughter was born.
I’ve had lots of other experience with casual and regular babysitting / nannying for children of all ages. This included over night and weekly stays while parents were out of town for work or social events. As well as school and kinder pick ups, taking children to other activities and maintaining consistency with their routine and schedules eg. Dinner, homework, bed time etc.
I prioritise building trusting relationships with the children I care for, where they can feel safe and accepted to be themselves and know that their opinions, needs and interests are valued. When I’m nannying, the children’s needs always come first. But I’m also more than happy to help out with any general home duties and will always make myself useful when the opportunity arises, as I know the difference this can make to a parents workload.
I’m a genuine, easy going and honest person. I love finding experiences that spark children’s joy and imagination and bringing this into our time together. I respect the values, structure and expectations of the families I work with and do my best to maintain consistency in this.
I’ve always loved my work with children and their families and since becoming a mum myself, I’ve come to appreciate and understand even more, just how important it is to find the right person to welcome into your family, home and children’s lives.
If you feel that my personality and experience might suit your family, please feel free to get in touch. I’m happy to email through my resume or answer any questions. Thank you
