Hello parents, I'm Tracey, a fit 54 year old with youthful energy and enthusiasm for life. I am the lady at the check out who makes your baby smile, and enjoys a natter with your children. 😊 I've loved babies, toddlers and young kids from when I started child minding at the age of 13 in my home town of Castlemaine. I worked in child care centres throughout my 20s before becoming a professional singer and having children of my own. I've raised two well adjusted young men who are now 27 and 19 and have no intention of giving me grandchildren any time soon , which is very unfortunate! 🥲 I also cared for my nieces, who are now teenagers, and know my way around the 'girl thing' as well. I have worked in many industries in my life, from entertainment, to teaching singing in primary and secondary schools, and for the past 7 years worked in aged care as an activities person, having particular interest in residents living with dementia., and disability support work, mainly with adults and adolescents. I have also been a regular baby sitter for three children under the age of 6 over the past 2 years. I've travelled extensively and have been fortunate enough to take some much needed time out recently to recharge my batteries and ready for an industry change. I would like be of service to a family where I feel welcome and at ease in creating a fun and calming environment. I believe children thrive in a routine, call me old fashioned, but we all love well rested and happy kids! I love to cook ( if required) and will make sure your children are well nourished. I'm from Italian descent and confident in the kitchen 😉. Household duties are fine as well. I work best in a clean environment and like to keep children especially clean (and dressed in appropriate clothing, I often see kids these days with no socks and no hat in winter and I become horrified!!) I LOVE reading to children and thoroughly at home in creating a magical fantasy land, I love Lego and puzzles, arty projects, I'm not shy in performing silly dance moves and playing games... I LOVE teaching songs and have a knack for getting the most cry baby to sleep with a lullaby. I am confident in my abilities having had parenting and life experience, but also understand that I will be taking your instructions fully on board of course. I'm honest, reliable and flexible, I am warm, personable and get along with all walks of life, oh and love animals too! For the last 5 years I have been a Swimming Teacher and Swimming Coordinator whilst training part time in a professional team as a triathlete. I am still a keen triathlete enjoying riding my bike and jogging in the local parks and heading to the baths for a swim. Hello! Please note I don’t own a car so am only looking for work within reasonable cycling distance of Fitzroy North. I’m looking for all day shifts primarily (e.g. 7-10 hrs) on Tuesdays and /or Thursdays. Ideally 2 full days but am open to 1. Am available to start 2025. I understand that it is important to keep children of all ages stimulated and am respectful of parents' routines and rules. Enforcing manners (age appropriate of course) is also really important to me. I have 7 years experience as a nanny, ranging from 6 months to 10 years old. I can work evenings (minimum 3 hrs please). I have completed first-aid courses in Japan and Australia. I have WWC and police checks that was applied for by the op shop I used to volunteer at. I can provide referees' details who will attest to my dedication, reliability and creativity. I am prepared to do light housework and tidying up after the kids (of course) but I do encourage them to help. I’m very reliable and expect the same from my employer. Late notice cancelling of my shifts i with no compensation isn’t respecting my time. In the last 3 years I’ve only taken one sick day despite being surrounded by colds, coughs and stomach bugs!
